Lawton Chiles High School – Ceramics 1

Students use three dimensional design to explore how space, mass, balance, and form combine to create aesthetic forms or utilitarian products and structures. Instructional focus will be on skills and techniques for ceramics and/or pottery for the majority of projects. Students learn both construction and completion of wares, including kiln and other finishing processes. Students participate in critiques, reflecting craftsmanship and quality in the surface and structural qualities of the completed art forms.
