Langston Hughes High School – Photography I

This semester long course is an introduction to black and whitephotography and darkroom processing. Students will construct theirown pinhole camera, take photos, and develop photos in thedarkroom creating a photographic portfolio as they learn thetechnical and artistic aspects of photography. A brief introduction todigital photography will be included. Photo history, critiques ofphotos, aesthetics and design will be addressed throughout thesemester. Students will have assignments to take some photos athome and keep a visual journal. Students will provide their ownlight sensitive paper which can be purchased in bulk for a discount.
