This is a course for a student taking Acting for the firsttime. Beginning actors will be exposed to severaldifferent performance styles and methods which willimprove their performance skills. This course usestheatre to encourage cooperative learning, teamwork,organization, and leadership skills. Theatre's forte is inthe emotional arena, where participants are able tonot only express emotion in a safe environment, butmore pertinently, able to learn how to calibrate theiremotional responses to various stimuli. The classallows all students the opportunity to perform on aregular basis. After-school rehearsal time andperformances may be required.
