Drawing & Painting will instruct students in fundamental drawingskills and prepare them to make the transition to painting. Coursework builds on drawing skills introduced in Introduction to Art.Drawing approaches include contour, value to model form, gesture,perspective and color; students work with drawing media such aspencil, charcoal, oil pastels. Art history, criticism and aesthetics areincorporated with studio production of drawings and paintings. Inaddition to learning a life-long skill, drawing courses help youincrease your observation abilities, your self-discipline, your abilityto evaluate your own performance, your problem-solving abilities,and your ability to complete long-term projects.
