This course is the third year of the Sign Language sequence. In this course, the student will continue to develop proficiency in communicating by learning vocabulary, syntax and grammar. In addition to understanding the deaf culture, students will learn how to interact competently and comfortably with hearing-impaired individuals. MODERN LANGUAGES AND CHINESE: CHINESE, FRENCH, GERMAN AND SPANISH Level I The goal of the study of beginning levels in modern languages is communicative competence. This course will introduce students to the language and will develop novice-level proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
