Diploma Programme Theatre Arts HL course builds upon the skills developed in SL. Additionally, students experience the course from contrasting artistic and cultural perspectives. They learn about theatre from around the world, the importance of making theatre with integrity, and the impact that theatre can have on the world. It enables them to discover and engage with different forms of theatre across time, place and culture, promoting international-mindedness and an appreciation of the diversity of theatre. In lieu of a traditional exam, this course culminates through the completion of a research presentation of a world theatre tradition, a collaborative creation and performance of an original piece of theatre, and a solo theatre piece that demonstrates the practical application of a theatre theory to a theatre piece for an audition.
