Welding II is the second part of a two-year program designed to prepare students to be skilled workers and to understand, perform and supervise or inspect a wide variety of welding processes, including gas welding, flame cutting, plasma cutting, arc gouging, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and flux core welding. Students will understand non-destructive and destructive inspection of welds and welded products and auxiliary equipment used in the process, such as jigs, fixtures, and tools and equipment related to welding. Students will develop math skills and problem-solving skills used in the welding field. Students will be required to take and pass, with 100%, a mandatory safety exam within the first two weeks of school to remain in the course. Note: Transportation Needed: Yes Offered at Klein Cain and Klein Oak High Schools PRACTICUM IN WELDING
