This yearlong course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use of, and alteration of Earth’s surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to analyze human social organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practice. This course awards students a World Geography credit, while preparing students for the AP exam in May. This course fulfills the World Geography credit for graduation; therefore, students will not receive graduation credit for AP Human Geography and World Geography. Students must choose between AP Human or World Geography. SS43D1 - US Hist Dual Sm1 0.5 credits / 1 Semester / Grades: 11 History 1301: The study of the history of the United States from English Colonization through the Reconstruction. History 1302: The study of the history of the United States from the end of the Reconstruction era to the present.
