Cyber: Cisco 1 DE provides the opportunity for students to earn credit for ITN 154 through Northern Virginia Community College. Cyber: Cisco 1 DE teaches the first half of two interrelated Cisco networking courses. Students learn concepts & skills needed to gain an understanding of basic computer networking fundamentals. These include basic network switch configuration, understanding network models, important elements of each of the primary layers of networking -- including IP and MAC addressing and TCP functions. This may inform entry-level home network installer jobs as well as skills needed to become network technicians and cable installers. or help-desk technicians. It introduces networking and the Internet, including some hands-on familiarity with aspects of home and small business network environments.
