Juanita High School – Japanese 2

This class is conducted in Japanese using a communicative approach. Students will build on the basics learned in Japanese 1 with the goal of developing Novice High to Intermediate proficiency, using simple sentences to express themselves. Students develop their intercultural skills and communication in Japanese through interpersonal speaking and writing, presentational speaking and writing, and interpretive reading and listening. Students continue to learn about Japanese-speaking cultures by exploring various themes related to contemporary life, family and community, and global challenges, among others. Japanese 2 is not recommended for Heritage or Native speakers of Japanese. If you speak Japanese at home, have lived in Japan, and/or have attended Japanese Saturday school, please contact your schools Japanese teacher to determine appropriate placement.
