Intrinsic Charter High School – Dual Enrollment/Jumpstart to Jobs

In this course, students will explore the power of language through rhetoric, inquiry, literary analysis, and creative writing. Students will also engage in discussions about power dynamics by examining literature and informational texts in order to be able to critically evaluate their place in the world. Historically, students will focus on examining primary sources surrounding the founding of the Unites States and the rhetoric surrounding historical race relations in the US. Finally, students will examine the degree to which the American Dream does or does not apply to all citizens. Additionally, students will engage in project based learning to continue exploration about what they like and how to utilize their strengths in group dynamics.
