The Humanities course content will include a survey of World History from the dawn of humanity to the present day. The course will connect current issues to historical events and integrate geography throughout. The course content is framed around the Intrinsic Graduate Aims of Think, Solve, Communicate and Reflect. Through Rhetorical Analysis, Research and Literary Analysis students will be encouraged to perceive events and circumstances from the viewpoint of others, including people in racial and cultural groups different from their own, the other gender, other age groups, and people who live under different political and economic systems.

Students are recommended for the Honors section based on their reading, writing, and discussion data as well as their performance in Quarter 1 of the course. Students in the Honors section will complete coursework at a faster pace and with a higher level of independence than their peers. Additional reading and writing assignments will be assigned throughout each unit. To maintain Honors, students must maintain an $80 %$ or above in the course at the completion of each unit and complete all additional focus areas.

Algebra is the branch of mathematics​ in which letters and symbols are used to represent numbers and quantities in formulas and equations. As a discipline, algebra is concerned with modeling events in the real world and describing them mathematically. Thus, ​throughout the course, mathematical concepts will be taught with an emphasis on real-world application and the use of technology.​ ​Algebra is the initial building block of mathematics and is reiterated in all future math courses.

Honors classes address the same standards but go deeper into the content, at a much faster pace, and have higher expectations for both the quality and quantity of student work. Honors classes are more rigorous and push student learning above and beyond grade-level. Students who successfully complete Honors Mathematics courses have a more extensive understanding of mathematical concepts and practices, can solve problems in a variety of ways and are flexible in their mathematical thinking, and demonstrate mathematical leadership in the classroom. ​To maintain Honors, students must maintain an $80 %$ or above in the course at the completion of each unit and complete all additional focus areas.

While this Geometry course has an emphasis on Euclidean geometry, students should expect algebraic and statistical concepts to be intertwined with it. Students should expect to understand how concepts of constructions and geometric transformations mix with algebra and statistics to model and solve real-world problems. The level of algebra and option of course acceleration is described later in the syllabus.

Biology is an introduction to important subfields in biology: evolutionary, ecological, cellular, environmental, and molecular genetics. Students will learn and apply foundational scientific principles and complete labs regularly. Students will also engage in additional activities to enrich their experience and deepen their understanding of science: speaker series, field trips, and collaborative team projects.

Honors Biology will cover more information and more difficult content than Biology. Students should be able to more quickly internalize and apply scientific principles and skills so that they may engage in additional and more in-depth explorations of the content area. At the beginning of the year students will be given a choice of opting into Honors Science. ​To maintain Honors, students must maintain an $80 %$ or above in the course at the completion of each unit and complete all additional focus areas.

Art I is designed for beginning students with various skill levels. This course introduces the student to the fundamental techniques needed to master the elements of art and principles of design. Students learn through practical application with projects, sketchbook assignments, and critiques. This course teaches students the foundations necessary to continue in the upper level art courses.

Students enrolled in Honors Art l complete an independent art project throughout the year, and develop an art portfolio project completed throughout the class.
