Prepare for a high-paying career on the waterfront with this industry-aligned powerhouse course. Maritime & Welding provides a "deep dive" into the skills required by modern shipyards and boat manufacturers. You won’t just learn to weld; you’ll master SMAW, GMAW, TIG, and Aluminum welding, alongside advanced technology like Solidworks (CAD), CNC plasma cutting, and Oxy-Fuel cutting. This course is built on real-world experience: you will go on field trips to active shipyards, learn the essential art of knot tying, and collaborate with your peers to build and sell a boat from the ground up. You’ll graduate with a professional resume already in hand, featuring four major certifications: OSHA 10 (Industry Safety) Washington Boater Safety Card CPR & First Aid This course is part of Washington Network for Innovative Careers (WANIC), a seven-district partnership whose primary mission is to provide quality, diverse, and cost-effective career and technical education for all students through interdistrict cooperation. WANIC courses are challenging, relevant, specialized programs that meet for 3 periods per day all year.
