Interlake Senior High School – Drawing & Painting 1

Students explore a variety of media providing a foundation in the elements and principles of art with an emphasis on drawing and painting in traditional media such as graphite, charcoal, pastel, acrylic and watercolor. The study of historical and contemporary artists and culture provides vocabulary skills and a foundation for students to discuss and evaluate their own work. This course may also include printmaking, calligraphy, computer applications, and commercial art. This course is a suggested prerequisite for the AP Studio Art and IB programs.
