The Computer Systems Information Technology program is designed to train students in a classroom and shop/lab to diagnose and correct computer problems caused by hardware, electronic, or software glitches. Prepare for industry certification exams in A+, Net+, IC3, MCSA, MSCE, and CCNA. Program content includes, but is not limited to, installation, programming, operation, maintenance and servicing of computer systems; and diagnosis and correction of operational problems in computers arising from mechanical, electrical, or electronic malfunctions. Preparation for Comptia's A+ Certification and the NET+ certification exams are included in this program. The program includes four Occupational Completion Points: CTS0082 – Computer Systems Technician; CTS0083 – Computer Network Technician; CTS0084 – Computer Networking Specialist; CTS0069 – Computer Security Technician. Career Opportunities: Data Processing Equipment Repairers, Computer Service Technicians, Desktop Support, Help Desk, Network Administration, Field Service Tech, and Systems Administration.
Prerequisites: Specific Admissions Requirements: None. DOE Basic Skills Exit Requirements: Communications 9, Computation 9 (unless exempt). CASAS Exit Requirements: Communications 239+, Computation 236+ (unless exempt). When registering, you must register for the complete program.
