Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School – Instrumental Music: Beginning Guitar

n this year-long course, students explore the fundamentals of playing the guitar in a supportive and interactive environment. Through a combination of hands-on instruction and practical application, students develop a solid foundation in playing the guitar while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. Students learn instrument basics, technique, basic chords, rhythm and timing, reading notation, theory, and performance skills. By the end of the course, students gain the skills and knowledge necessary to play a wide range of songs on the guitar as well as a solid foundation for further musical exploration and development. Performances may be required.
