Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School – Orchestra: Chamber

In this one-year course focused on medium to advanced chamber music for small string orchestra, students work together to create a small, cohesive, self-conducted ensemble capable of excellence in many styles of orchestral repertoire. Rehearsals include sight-reading, ear-training, building individual and ensemble skills, music theory, and detailed preparation of various works written or adapted for string chamber orchestra. Out-of-class requirements include additional rehearsals, concerts, community performances, and festivals. This ensemble may participate in state-qualifying festivals and students must meet eligibility requirements in accordance with OSAA policy.
