Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School – AVID 12: Personal Finance

In this new diploma requirement, starting with the class of 2027, students will understand credit and debt, banking, investing, saving, and repayment. They will practice strategies for creating a budget, tracking and modifying spending patterns, including exploring common costs associated with rentals and home ownership. Students will understand personal income and taxes and learn how to maintain financial well-being by making informed consumer decisions. This course is paired with AVID 12 and students must pass both classes in order to receive credit for both AVID 12: Personal Finance and AVID 12.<br /><br /> Fulfills Personal Financial Education<br /><br /> Semester only course
