Best Buddies follows four pillars: Leadership, Friendship, Jobs and Inclusive Living. Within these pillars, Best Buddies offers nine different programs that help people with all abilities feel included and valued in their schools and communities! The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The purpose of this course is to provide a practical introduction to the work environment through direct contact with professionals in the community. Students apply textbook learning, leadership skills and understanding in challenging and creative professional areas. Students will be assigned to Office Departments only. No students will be assigned to teacher classrooms.
