Gwynns Falls Elementary – Renewable Matter and Energy with Electricity and Magnetism

Electricity and related Magnetism are emphasized and introductory topics in modern physics are covered. Students study static electricity, electric fields, direct and alternating current, series and parallel circuits, magnetism and electromagnetic induction and how to generate electricity from renewable energy sources. As time permits, the instructor may continue the study of atomic structure or solid state electronics. This project based course is also an introduction to thermodynamics, among the topics of renewable electricity generation plants, and an assessment of global energy use, policy, innovations, and potential and their impacts. There will be a strong focus on problem solving and the application of mathematic and scientific theories and concepts.
