Garfield High – GENESIS (Giving Everyone a New Educational Start in School)

An orientation program required of all day school students which helps them transition into the school environment. While in GENESIS, students explore study skills, problem-solving, goal-setting, conflict-resolution, career exploration, communication skill building and respect for adults and each other. During the orientation, students are tested in English and math to determine appropriate classes and needed support services.
Prerequisites: Required for all new day school students
Grades: All day school students (9-12)
