Grade 9C30H00 Criminal Justice I - This course is designed to give the student an overview of the United States Criminal Justice System through the examination of U.S. law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Court systems and U.S. Correctional Institutions. The first-year emphasis is given to the history of law enforcement; current issues facing law enforcement; the study of U.S. Constitutional law and criminal law. This course will examine career paths within the legal field. The curriculum is complemented with various guest speakers from the Criminal Justice Field and potential field trips to a local police department and training academy, county jail and Juvenile Court.
