Stacy Kathryn's profile
Stacy
University of Padova
I believe that a solid education is a gateway to making informed decisions throughout life, and I am passionate about helping students access that. For the past 11 years, I've had the pleasure of working with students of all agesfrom as young as 3 to over 50both online and in classrooms, as a tutor and teacher. My experiences span across diverse subjects and learning environments, which has equipped me with the ability to adapt my teaching to the individual needs of each student. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies: Global Security from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master's degree in Human Rights and Multi-Level Governance from the University of Padova. In addition, I have earned a variety of certificates related to my fields of interest. My academic background is interdisciplinary, drawing from political science, sociology, history, anthropology, and human rights law. I tutor a wide range of subjects, including English (in many forms such as EFL), art history, political science, social sciences, Latin American history, and writing. Two of my favorite areas to teach are EFL and history. I enjoy teaching EFL because language learning can open doors to new opportunities and cultural understanding, while history and political science are deeply connected to my career in human rights advocacy. I also have a passion for art history, having studied painting and drawing in college for three years. My teaching philosophy centers on being flexible and adaptive to the needs of my students. I believe in meeting them where they are, understanding their individual learning styles, and adjusting my approach accordingly. Whether it's through structured lessons or creative problem-solving, my goal is always to help students gain confidence and become independent learners. Outside of academia, I am involved in human rights advocacy and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking. I also love knitting, which gives me time to unwind and be creative.
