This course meets the PSD and State of Colorado requirement for Personal Financial Literacy. Students will learn and practice basic financial skills, including but not limited to: consumer research, protecting financial information, record keeping, making short-term and long-term financial plans, analyzing income streams, making budgets, analyzing impact of education and skills on lifetime income, accessing aid programs for education, understanding loans/interest, realizing benefits and risks of credit/debt, and investigating monetary and fiscal policies. Throughout the course, students will consider their personal decisions in the wider context of real-world, or "civic" American life.
