Fine Art Elective Fee Required This course is designed for both the beginning level and advanced level musical theater student. Students will explore the world of musical theater history, noted Broadway directors and choreographers, and scene/dance study as it relates to musical theatre. Students will prepare solos, small group and large ensemble works for an end of year public performance. There will be a focus on the audition process and the Dos and Don'ts of when you audition here at EHS and with community and professional level companies. Advanced MT students will continue to hone their skills through all course work and performances. CTE9961A/B Basic Technical Theater A/B Grades 9-12 1 semester/.5 credit There will be minimal homework. There are two after-school requirements (Drama Studio Night and attending an EHS production) Have you ever wondered how the lighting for the Academy Awards is done or how the sound is mixed for your favorite rock band? If these questions have ever popped into your mind, then this course is for you! This course is for all students who have an interest in technical theater and design. You will learn basic techniques in painting, set design, drafting, lighting, costume design, and sound design. Students will have an opportunity to help build, design, and paint the set for the Theatre Department’s main stage productions. * * *
