Eastlake High School – Graphic Production & Design I

Graphic Production and Design I introduces students to the fundamentals of graphic design, focusing on type, images, visual awareness, and conceptual and technical skills within print design. Students will learn about the role of a graphic designer as a creative problem solver who conceptualizes, plans, and executes designs to communicate messages. This semester covers the meaning of graphic design, the design process, and the role of graphic designers in society. Through hands-on exercises and projects, students will engage in critical thinking and making. Instruction includes computer-assisted art and design, photography, concept development, technical drawing, color theory, and imaging. Traditional art materials and Adobe Creative Suite software will be used to create original designs.
