Accounting is the language of business. In this course students will be introduced to the growing profession of accounting. Actual accounting forms and software will be used to record business transactions for an entire accounting cycle for a service business that is organized as a sole proprietorship. Students will also study accounting vocabulary; the relationship between accounting and business and utilize Microsoft Excel to organize; analyze and report financial information. Business ethics; career exploration; workplace skills and professional behaviors will be identified and practiced throughout the course. This class is highly recommended for all college-bound students planning to major in business admin­istration; accounting; finance; marketing; or economics.
