East Cooper Center for Advanced Studies – Cosmetology 3
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
DOUBLE BLOCK FALL AM The Cosmetology Program prepares students to qualify and successfully complete all requirements for a South Carolina Cosmetology license. Students receive training following the guidelines and regulations established by the South Carolina Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (SCLLR) Cosmetology Board. The course of study includes Sanitation and Safety, Professionalism and Salon Management, Sciences of Cosmetology, Professional Hair Care Skills, Professional Nail Care Skills, and Professional Skin Care Skills. Cosmetology 3 builds on the skills learned in Cosmetology 1 and 2, reviewing the theory chapters covered in the previous two courses. In addition, students will explore the business side of Cosmetology by working in groups to establish a “salon.” They will develop a business plan, design their salon, create marketing materials, and set budgets. To further prepare students for the workforce, they will work on drafting resumes. Students will spend a large portion of this class in the ECCAS Salon practicing their skills on real clients.
