Civil Engineering and Architecture is designed to help students understand the broad opportunities in civil engineering and architecture. The course exposes students to the design and construction of residential and commercial building projects, which include an introduction to building design, components and systems, structural design, stormwater management, site design, utilities and services, cost estimation, energy efficiency, and careers in the design and construction industry. Students will analyze and design residential and commercial projects through hand drawings, 3D modeling, and physical modeling. While implementing these designs, students will continually hone their creative abilities and understanding of the design process. Civil Engineering and Architecture is a specialization course within the engineering or architecture major. college. Students should check with all colleges to which they intend to apply to ensure that they will meet the entrance requirements.
