This Intermediate level course focuses on 3-dimensional design concepts using the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Students will explore various sculpture materials and methods 1st semester and will concentrate on clay sculpture during the 2nd semester. Each project consists of learning appropriate vocabulary and historical context, planning, sculpting, and assessing work.

Students will receive an intensive study of 3D design fundamentals and creative problem solving to develop skills needed in engineering, visualization, technology and visual art. Emphasis will be on 3D art making, using a wide range of media and materials.

Overview of art history from Prehistoric Art to Post-Modernism. Students will learn the role art can play in revealing the cultures and attitudes of past and present societies.

Intermediate level studio art course in which students will be exposed to digital photography and Photoshop. Composition, value, color theory and other concepts will be covered in this course.

Proficient level studio art course. This course is a continuation of photography concepts learned in Photo 1 with an emphasis on developing personal style.

Studio Art course that concentrates on the development of different drawing techniques. Drawing is explored through life drawings and as a means of expression. Completion of a sketchbook is required.

This course is designed for those students who want to draw, design, and create on a digital platform. Students who may be creative but not confident at drawing will experience the benefit of computer-assisted technology in the creative process. Students will be expected to design, implement and analyze projects throughout the course. Digital Design (Digital Art and Graphics) Reynolds Studio Art course centered around the use of the computer as a graphic design and fine art making tool. Students will be exposed to programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

Studio Art course that emphasizes an introduction to painting by exposing students to water-based painting media including acrylic, watercolor, gouache and tempera. Painting 1 will include class critiques.

Studio Art course that emphasizes the use of oil painting techniques as well as digital painting. Students will explore painting from life, and abstraction in this course.

Sample course offerings in Cultural Languages, Theatre Arts, Choral Music, Instrumentation, Creative Writing, Movement/Dance, Dramatic Interpretation, Readings in the Arts, and Careers in the Arts. Each experience is designed to lay the foundation for building literacy and 21st Century workplace skills.

Develop skills in drawing. Activities are in four major areas of perceptual, expressive, formal, and conceptual techniques. Portfolio development will prepare you for college or art school.
