This course changes topics and instructors periodically throughout the year. Students will be expected to do the following: write for a variety of topics and purposes; read, listen to, and discuss student work; learn to formally critique and to accept constructive criticism; research and learn to gather information for use in study; learn to do research at the college level, both independently and in groups; speaking for a variety of purposes and modes with more confidence; cooperate with peers and teachers for an induction into a collegiate academic atmosphere; and increase awareness of study habits and organizational skills necessary for focused academic success.
