duPont Manual High – Applied Piano 1

The student participates in two solo recitals per year and may perform as a member of a small ensemble. Opportunities for accompanying vocal and instrumental students are available to selected students upon teacher recommendation. The student entering the program should be able to perform intermediate level repertoire, such as sonatinas and Bach Two-Part Inventions. The skills/concepts taught in the Applied Piano Program include practice habits, piano technique, rhythm, scales, intervals, chords, sight reading, transposition, performance, and enrichment.
