duPont Manual High – Chamber Small Instrument  Ensemble (Band)

Students study and perform a variety of traditional styles such as traditional chamber music, and contemporary or popular styles, such as jazz and rock, while also cultivating students' technique.  Students may also study and perform a variety of cultural music styles, such as Mariachi band, steel drum band, Indian gamelan, or African drumming ensembles, while developing techniques.  These ensembles may include both instrumental and vocal music such as a jazz combo with a singer. Critical analysis & problem solving, collaboration, and musical skills & understandings are developed and applied through rehearsal and performance, improvisation, and/or creating and performing students' own compositions.
