duPont Manual High – Guitar 1, 2, 3, 4
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Students will develop their technique and musicianship on the guitar through ensemble performance. Instruction is based on the Austin Classical Guitar Curriculum. Students will supplement their knowledge of the guitar through solo performance, identification of key signatures, perform corresponding scales in one octave, develop an alternating right hand concept, and read fluently within multiple positions. Additionally, Students will develop their ear through “playback dictations” (see Ear Tests) and rhythmic exercises found in Hall’s Studying Rhythm Chapters 1 – 5.
Prerequisites: Audition required for Guitar 2, 3, 4 only
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
