duPont Manual High – Directing/Stage Production 1

This is a practical course designed to introduce students to the concepts and practices of directing focusing on developing stage pictures, text analysis and collaborating with actors. Class content will include, but not be limited to reading from the assigned texts and selected articles, regular writing assignments, reading and analysis of several plays, lecture and class discussions. Rehearsals are a regular part of class and students are expected to direct and perform in multiple scenes.
Prerequisites: Non-majors must take Exploring Theatre AND have teacher approval.
