This course focuses on actor movement and vocal training. The course builds on previously learned skills and introduces additional vocal and movement techniques essential to actor training and development. We will explore and strengthen physical/vocal relaxation, strength and flexibility, focus/concentration, observation, and characterization In addition, the second part of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) will be taught in order to help eliminate intrusive dialect traits, achieve Standard American Pronunciation and provide the student with the necessary tools to achieve authentic, intelligible and consistent speech. Resume preparation and audition techniques will be explored as time permits.
