This course provides opportunities forintermediate level performers to increaseperformance skills and precision on a wind orpercussion instrument. It includesperformance and production, analysis andtheoretical studies, historical and culturalcontributions and influences, creative aspectsof music and appreciation of music. Stressesindividual progress and learning and groupexperiences; strengthens reading skills.Concert Band will help prepare the studentsfor advanced playing demands of upper highschool literature and technique. After schoolrehearsals will be required. Concert Band willperform several required concerts during theyear. Students will be auditioned and placedin the most suitable class based on studentability and instrumentation. They willinvolve all major scales and sight-reading.
