Corona Vista High – Teen Parenting 1a-1b

Must be a teen parent or a prospective teen parent; must have parent/guardian and administrative approval; Prerequisite: and submit proof of negative TB skin test This course provides the perspective teen parent with information and skills that will help them adjust to their situation and make wise choices concerning their pregnancy. The course will include: instruction on heredity; environment; prenatal development; prenatal health hazards; prenatal care; preparation for childbirth; labor; birth; and the needs of the mother and newborn infant. The essential learnings in each of these areas will help the student become more confident and prepared thereby benefiting both the parent and the developing fetus.
