Conroe High School – Three-Dimensional Design Portfolio AP

The 3-D design portfolio addresses a broad interpretation of design. Any 3-D media including but not limited to Ceramics may be submitted. College credit for Advanced Placement in studio art can be earned with portfolio of work produced in this course and submitted and evaluated to the College Board at examination time. (Credit earned is dependent upon score received and policies of the university.) Studio practice emphasizes independent exploration and research, experimentation of materials and themes, concept development, some instructorguided exercises, consideration of college and career choices, presentation and exhibition. Current trends will be examined through media studies and presentations by Admission counselors from recognized art schools. Students are required to submit a portfolio for the AP Three-Dimensional Art exam.
Prerequisites: Ceramics I or Sculpture I and/or portfolio review
