ConneXions: A Community Based Arts School – Visual Arts (6-8)

Focuses on art as a visual language and a tool for social movements. Students explore various mediums including drawing, printmaking, and sculpture to convey messages, reflect on societal influences, and explore personal and cultural identity through artistic expression. Topics include visual language, geometric and organic forms, graphic design, printmaking, propaganda, currency, relief sculpture, facial proportions, global mask traditions, 3D sculpture, and public vs. private identity.
