Cleveland High School – Choir: Advanced - Treble

Students in this auditioned, year-long ensemble are advanced vocal musicians who perform challenging standard and contemporary choral literature throughout the year at school concerts, community events, and festivals. Foundational expectations for membership include consistent demonstration of collaborative rehearsal skills, a cooperative attitude, and a personal commitment to improvement. This course emphasizes ensemble fundamentals, diverse soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB) choral literature, sight-reading, music theory, and advanced vocal techniques. Opportunities for differentiation and extension include performance as a soloist and/or in small ensembles. This ensemble may participate in state-qualifying festivals and students must meet eligibility requirements in accordance with OSAA policy. Students will develop the necessary skills that prepare them for auditions into college-level and honor ensembles.
