Students will learn to work more independently, develop proficiency in producing finished ceramic artworks using hand build and/or wheel methods, and strengthen their 8 studio habits of mind. Students engage in group work to deepen skills in analyzing art through a cultural/historical lens and the use of art vocabulary. Frequent peer art critiques foster further artistic growth. Students create a digitized portfolio to document and celebrate the artworks they make during the semester. Students become familiar with the running of a ceramics studio, by loading/unloading kilns and working the pugger, for example. Students are eligible for this class after passing Ceramics I with a satisfactory grade. This course counts as both Fine Arts and CTE.

Prerequisites: Student must pass Ceramics I with satisfactory grade.

Grades: 10, 11, 12
