“The mission of Carter G. Woodson Elementary School is to provide a rigorous Common Core - aligned curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse Pre-K to fifth grade learners.  We support our students in their development of critical thinking skills by providing hands-on learning experiences, developmentally appropriate research-based teaching practices, and small group intervention, remediation, and enrichment as well as varied health services in a fully accessible school building.  The school, home, and community work as a team to ensure that each child is working to his/her full potential both cognitively and socially.  Our entire school community shares the belief that all children can and will learn.”
