Blake High School – Creative Photo III

The purpose of this course is to give students a second level understanding of photographic imagery. The content includes a study of photography as a visual communication that can be discussed in terms of technical as well as aesthetic qualities. Laboratory work will continue the content of creative Photography 1, with the addition of color and more advanced control of lighting. Students will collect a model portfolio of published work, acquiring vocabulary and developing criteria for dis- cussing photographs. Darkroom work may include more advanced printing techniques such as the zone system, Mezzotints, graded paper and/or polycentrism filters. Students will learn basic techniques for proper presentation of photographic works. A personal camera is recommended.
