Arizona College Prep High School – Targeted ELD

This course is designed to help students who are learning English as a second language (ESL) develop the skills they need to succeed in school and in life. The course focuses on four areas of language development: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will learn how to use English to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts, including academic settings. They will also learn about the grammar and vocabulary of English, as well as the cultural aspects of the language. The course is recommended for students at the Pre-Emergent level of language profi ciency as measured by AZELLA (Arizona English Language Learner Assessment).
