Aloha High School – PE 1: Fitness / Team Activities

This class is designed for incoming freshmen where they will learn and apply various health aspects of fitness, the components of fitness, the FITT principle, fitness testing, and goal setting while participating in team sports and activities. Potential activities may include but are not limited to volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, and ultimate frisbee.This course is for students with no previous high school P.E. credit. Students will learn fitness terminology, develop positive fitness habits, and participate in a variety of physical activities that promote lifelong fitness. Fitness assessments focusing on muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance will be given throughout the course with an emphasis on personal growth. Success requires dressing out, active participation, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Sample activities include HIIT workouts, jogging, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, and soccer. This course awards PE 1 credit only and cannot be repeated.
