Dual Credit offered in partnership with OIT This rigorous and specialized course is recommended for students with interests in health-related careers, biological sciences, sports training, biomedical engineering, and science education. Students will study the location, appearance, and relationships between the parts of the human body (anatomy) as well as the mechanisms at work within the body (physiology). Topics include the identification of different cells and tissues and a deep dive into each body system (skin, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and urinary). Lectures and exams are complemented by labs involving microscopic studies, hands-on discovery labs, modeling activities, and live dissections (required). In order to cover everything, homework and adequate test preparation are expected.This course is equivalent to an introductory college Human Anatomy & Physiology course (Dual Credit offered in partnership with OIT). NOTE: This course is required for students enrolled in year one of the Beaverton Health Careers option program. (\*) Denotes Weighted Grade Course
