Individualized reading program focused on increasing confidence and skills. Diagnostic reading tests determine skill areas needing improvement, and credit is earned based on improved scores on standardized tests.

Covers literature, written composition (prewriting, compositions, editing), language mechanics (spelling, punctuation), usage, grammar, and parts of speech. Focuses on oral and written skills for self-expression, employment, or further education.

Designed to meet individual needs through daily mini-sessions, status-of-the-class, and content/editing conferences. Students learn writing mechanics and are immersed in literature to explore various writing styles.

Covers History, Civics, Geography, and Economics, including Personal Finance. Includes studies in government rights and responsibilities, as well as practical law topics like family, housing, and consumer issues.

Core curriculum includes whole numbers, decimals, measurement, percentages, number systems, probability, tables, graphs, estimation, and story problems. Also offers Basic Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Algebra.

An individualized integrated survey course covering life and physical science competencies established by the Portland Public School District.

Taught once weekly to improve self-concept and relationship skills. Students design and implement a group project using skills learned in the vocational classroom.

Individualized course covering Nutrition, Physical Fitness, Safe Living, Life Cycles, and Stress and Risk Taking.

Individualized program consisting of off-campus activities (such as bicycle events, running, martial arts, or dance) and a written work packet for the first 1/4 credit.

Career and Technical Education program in digital media and arts communication. Students receive training in applicable job skills with opportunities for job shadows, internships, and practica.

A class where students bake and cook food for school events. Students learn proper food preparation and make specific dishes such as pizza, lasagna, and biscuits. Students develop professional cooking and baking techniques and have the opportunity to earn a food handler's license for free.
