Hello! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and Managerial Studies. I also hold a Master's degree in Education: Learning and Teaching, and just finished my second year as an elementary school teacher. I was a fourth grade teacher in California before I moved to Massachusetts. Now I am a Spanish elementary school teacher for grades K-5th. Before teaching, I was a Spanish elementary teacher assistant, summer camp instructor, and high school tutor. While most of my experience teaching is with elementary school students, my tutoring experience is with high school students. I have tutored many subjects: Algebra 1, Spanish 1, ELL, High School English, High School History, and Time Management and Organizational skills. I enjoy tutoring Algebra 1, organizational skills, and Spanish because math is one of my favorite subjects growing up, I think organization is one of the keys to a successful school career, and I love the Spanish language. My teaching philosophy is that I believe to be a teacher who strives to create a positive and nurturing learning environment that cultivates mindful and motivated students, who are prepared and empowered for success in the future of tomorrow. My interests outside of teaching include: reading, scrapbooking, traveling, photography, the arts, yoga, listening to music and watching movies. I have a great passion for helping students succeed and instilling a growth mindset. I'm full of energy, excitement and always ready to tackle the day, which goes hand in hand with my go-getter attitude. I have lots of experience working with children of all ages. As a current Masters student in English at Boston College, I firmly believe that learning to think, write, and speak critically is of the utmost importance. So important, in fact, that I take great pleasure in working with students who are having a difficult time with English coursework, no matter the age (Middle school, high school, undergrad). I believe that hard work and enthusiasm are the most important tools to success. Along with a variety of techniques I have to help with grammar, vocabulary, outlining, and argumentation, I try and stress the need for hard work and enthusiasm in all of my sessions. Tutoring means a great deal to me and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you!

I am a third year biology major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a strong background in math at all levels. Along with my biology degree, I am also studying for two minors in psychology and mathematics. I have experience as a tutor, both freelance for a year with several students and working through a school as a math tutor and SAT prep tutor for three years. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, the ocean, and playing guitar and piano.

I graduated from Carleton College in 2014 and worked in documentary production for a couple years, during which time I also studied for the GRE and applied to grad school, ultimately ending up at Northwestern University studying documentary media.My passion for projects that are unique and illuminate subjects in innovative ways ignites my passion for teaching, where the name of the game is to work with learners to find approaches that work for them. I have tutored the ACT, SAT, GRE, as well as math and english academic subjects.In my free time I enjoy playing club rugby, seeking out movies and books, going for runs, and traveling.

I am a graduate of UMASS Amherst and have a degree in Kinesiology. As a second degree black belt in Karate and an aspiring novelist, I combine a strong work ethic, unflinching morality and loyalty with the creative aspects of freelance tutoring. I treat every assignment, test prep and student I work with as intensely as the last. Just as I will one day best my opponents and claim the title of the greatest Karate practitioner who's ever lived, I will fight tooth and nail to develop and share my tutoring prowess with the world!I am a total nerd, but love to experience the world and it's inhabitants in a very profound and involved way. My strongest subjects are exercise science, nutrition, physical therapy, geography, psychology, writing of any kind, and history. I am a quick learner, however, and am always willing to test and educate myself in preparation for tutoring others.Finally, I possess addictions to travel, exercise and discovery. I detest laziness and want everything I create and experience to be the most magnificent it can possibly be. This is shown, at times, subtly or boisterously in the thriller I've been writing for three years. My self-prescribed deadline for the book is August 31st 2020.
