I love to help people, all types, ages, sizes of people, especially young people. I become very excited when I know I have helped someone. I am passionate about helping students because I feel a great deal of pleasure and happiness while I'm teaching or tutoring. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University and have a Bachelor of Science degree in PE and English. I have taught high school English and PE in 3 states: Idaho, California and Utah. I have also taught elementary PE in Utah (15 years) I have loved working with students, especially those who have a desire to learn. Books are my friends. I love everything about them, even the smell of a new book. So anything pertaining to the study of reading, writing, analyzing literature, preparing for a test that includes reading and writing, or others along these lines, I enjoy tutoring. I am a good writer and enjoy finding the words for descriptions or feelings or events. I'm a good speller. Words are important. They are one of our most important means of communication. Part of getting along well in life involves being able to communicate. To me, learning is great fun! I have always loved school and classes, so when I teach or tutor, that enthusiasm naturally bubbles up and I try to impart that enthusiasm to the student(s). Outside of teaching, I love the water, volleyball, good movies, being with friends and family and walking my dogs, Charlie and Quin. I surely hope I get to meet you so we can learn together!

I am currently finishing a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Utah. I have had the opportunity to help friends and family with material in math and science fields. This gives me a knowledge of teaching at various levels and technical background.

I am a tutor with six years of experience tutoring students in English, Reading, Math, LSAT, History, and Political Science. I have dual BA degrees in History and Political Science with honors, and I am a law student at the Washington University School of Law, which is ranked the #16th best law school in the U.S. I am also an independent editor and writing tutor for the University of Utah's Graduate Writing Center. I founded the University of Utah Prison Education Project, where I served as a TA and tutor in courses from Anthropology and History to Writing and college-level Mathematics. I also serve as an educational mentor with the Vine Institute, a program that offers educational courses to refugees from across the world. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University studying Applied Physics. After finishing my degree I am planning on pursuing a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering. Since January 2014 I have worked in the physics help lab at BYU. Throughout this time I have greatly enjoyed helping many students increase their understanding of physics. I love seeing my students have a "light-bulb" moment where suddenly everything we discussed makes sense to them. I think it is extremely important for everyone to have (at least) a basic understanding of math and science as this helps us to better understand our world. I am greatly motivated to teach in a way that my students understand the fundamental principles and not in a way that they can merely get the right answer. I love trying to pass on my enthusiasm for math and science to my students, and I am always looking for ways to show how cool and fun mastering these subjects can be. Although I am most passionate about physics, I also tutor math and Spanish. When I'm not studying or teaching I enjoy swimming, reading (especially Michael Crichton and Orson Scott Card), and exchanging movie quotes with my roommates.
